Bobble Head

Here are a couple videos that I have been meaning to post for a while now.

Listen to the first part of the video. June usually will sneeze a few times and then growl. In this video you hear the growl first and then the sneeze. I think its one of the cutest things and she still does it most of the time.

Bobble Head June. I wanted to upload a few more, but I guess they must be too big. I will enlist the help of Jeffery and hopefully post them soon. They will feature June's first giggles, her talking with friends, and a mommy/daughter workout.

June on the Town

This past Sunday, Jeff and I decided we wanted to take a walk to the top of the hill that we live on. The walk is a little rough towards the end since its pretty steep, but the view above makes it all worth it. Here are a few of the pictures we took of our walk and looking out over downtown Birmingham.
Here we are at the beginning of our trek up the hill.

Doesn't June look excited?

At the top, getting ready for our photo shoot.

Then things get a little silly.

Love this face

On the way back down, June was tired from the long walk.

A few of her favorite things

So a couple weeks ago, I accidentally dropped our camera. It didn't fall far, but apparently it was enough to break it. This was a very sad day at the Vahrenkamp house. I have actually been taking pictures and videos on my phone almost daily to send to grandparents who are far away, but since we didn't have our camera, I figured I would share some of my favorite videos from the last couple weeks.

This first video is of June sitting up. She does pretty well and can stay up for a couple minutes at a time on her own. We have been putting the Boppy around her so that she can have a little bit of support and so its soft when she falls backwards.

June still loves her bouncer even though I think she has almost outgrown it.

Just last week we started June on solid foods. This was her first try at sweet potatoes.

About a week later we tried an apple/banana mix. June is now eating sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, spinach, bananas, and apples. We have found that she will eat anything with a little sweet potato mixed in (this includes the fruit). I always thought that babies liked the fruit better, but June loves her sweet potatoes.

This is one of June's favorite toys. I think she likes it because its so bright.

Thankfully, I have a friend from work who has a baby about 7 months older than June. She has been so generous to let us borrow a lot of her baby stuff. This makes it so much easier on us. We don't have to worry about buying everything and where to store it when she is done after only a few months of use. This is June's most recent borrowed toy. We have only had it a few days and she already loves it.

This last one is one of my favorites. One day June was just being so crabby and I was getting a little frustrated. Anyway, this is what I found worked to keep her happy. Now she loves it whenever we do it to her. She also tries to mimic that sound which is really funny to hear.

Our Little Cupid

On Valentine's Day, I wanted to take a few pictures of June being cute like always. So that's how it started, June dressed in pink and holding a heart magnet that we have. I sent the picture to family to wish everyone a Happy V Day. Jeff's reply was to make her cupid so this is my attempt at being creative. I made June some angel wings with some cardboard, cotton balls, and feathers. They aren't the greatest, but they did the job. I was actually proud with how well the whole scene turned out. I apologize for the unedited photos. If I knew how to, I would crop them. I did try and failed horribly. I guess that's another thing on my list of To Do's.

"Do you ever turn off that camera, Mom?"

Still sucking that thumb.

One of her favorite things to do, blowing bubbles.

Hanging out on a cloud.

Flying in the sky!

This is what happened when I tried to sit her up. She can't quite do it on her own yet.

Taking a break.

Sincola came to check things out.

Daddy joined in too.

Loving on Sincola

I guess painted particle board tastes great.

Five Months and Lovin' Life

So we took June to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens for a five month photo shoot. June fell asleep on the way there so Jeff and I got to do a mini photo shoot of ourselves before we woke her up to do her part. Here are a few of my favorites.

Its weird now thinking that only a couple months ago this was our entire family. Its crazy how one small being can change your life so much and for the better too.

We act a little weirder when its a tripod taking our pictures

So much fun taking pictures

Sleeping baby

We love her JUNE puzzle. This is one of her favorite faces to make right now. Very serious.

Another one of her favorite faces to make. Biting the top lip.

Pretty Girl

I hope you enjoyed our photo shoot. I know we enjoyed taking the pictures. This is one of the many advantages of having a husband who has photography as a hobby.
